Unwanted Female Facial Hair - Operation Chin and Upper Lip Face Off

By

Unwanted facial hair really really sucks!

Why oh why, why me, why is there so much hair on my face!? In my previous hub on facial hair I discuss eyebrows its here and called, Unwanted Female Facial Hair – Operation Battle Eyebrow. If yours are thick and unruly and you are not quite sure what to do, be sure to check out this post!

Okay, so I have a mustache too, I used to shave it and once remember going into work and having everyone including my boss ask me about the embarrassing cut above my lip. To some I told the truth and they laughed with me and to others I just avoided the question. I tried bleaching it once and it turned this ghastly shade of white gold, I was so embarrassed. The electrolysis worked very well for this and occasionally have the stray hair that I whisk away with the razor, but the electrolysis gave me excellent results and I would recommend it to anybody. I saw a $30 at home electrolysis machine at the store, I have a link to one similar to what I had below that you can buy today if you want. It came home with me and I learned how to do it. You stick this needle into the hair follicle underneath the individual hair, and then zap it with an electrical current. After holding it there for a few seconds you remove the needle and then effortlessly for the most part, remove the hair with tweezers. Voila, the hair, if done correctly, never returns. Sounds great right? Except for the needle and electrical current part of course. There are some down sides. One it doesn't always work if the follicle isn't completely zapped, and the hair grows back. Two, it can be very uncomfortable, after all you are electrocuting your face, and now for three and four. Three, you need to plan when you will do this. It will take several sessions to do your face, and you must do it over a holiday or a long weekend. Why this is, your face will break out for sure. Break out in tiny sores that look like like pimples but are worse, they are open sores. Okay, it looks really really bad. But they heal in a couple of days. Next, if the electrolysis is done improperly, like where the needle is held in place to long, it will create a life long scar. Ah ha, it sucks, I have one such scar between my eyes. But I also have a lot less hair. I haven't finished my entire face, it's quite a battle, but now I am on machine number two. Look out Mr. Chin, I am coming to get you! And speaking of Mr. Chin, it is my current battle. I don't know where it came from or why it is there, but I have a crazy amount of chin hair. It is awful, uncomfortable and makes me feel really really bad. I seem to remember to have this issue, but since giving birth to my daughter it just began to grow and grow. It is thick and stiff and a lot. If you have this problem I recommend going to see your OB/GYN and have your hormones tested as it may be a direct result of your Testosterone levels being off. For me, I had my levels checked and they saw nothing out of the norm, but I still think there is something off that they didn't see. I went to see a Dermatologist unshaven and pleaded for help and after they sheilded their eyes in disgust, they gave me a prescription for Vaniqua which diminishes hair growth. Great, but it wasn't covered by my insurance and the prescription cost over $100 a month and it would be something I would have to be on for life in order to have permanent results. Once you go off of it the hair continues growing as it once did. So, that wasn't for me. I used to use a regular razor and soap but because I also have mild acne around that area I was just tearing apart my skin. Pretty gross. I tried to have the area professionally waxed and that was a horrible situation, it was painful and they didn't get all of it so I had to lie there while they tweezed my chin to death. Not only did I feel sorry for myself, but I felt really sorry for the lady who had to tweeze each hair out of my chin. I didn't go back. I have tried wax and those sanding strips as well and they both left burns, ouch. What I find that works the best for me, and I say for me, is, I purchased a Panasonic Ladies Wet/Dry Electric Razor. I love it. It's quick, no pain, doesn't break open my skin or acne (ew), and leaves my skin feeling soft. The downside is that it only lasts 2-3 days, so it is part of my beauty routine I am so sad to say but at least it takes only less than a minute and it does the job.

Now, my final entry on unwanted facial hair, and I thought I would save the best for last. I know when it was brought to my attention I didn't even realize it was a problem, and of course it took a drag queen to point it out, and that was unsightly nostril hair. I am so laughing right now, it's truly terrible if you think about it. What is so wrong with my genes that I have been cursed with all of this? I am actually pretty cute underneath all of this hair! So, go check the mirror, please, just do it, can you see your nose hair at all? Then it is time to say, buh bye. Try trimming your nostril hair with tiny scissors some time and see what it does to your face to not have a mass of nasty straggly hair smack dab in the middle of it. I had never felt so beautiful, try it, it's an instant face lift! You will not be disappointed.

So now that I have revealed to you my imperfections and my solutions when it comes to unwanted facial hair I hope that maybe this article can help you make some important decisions when it comes to being the most beautiful you. We don't have to go through life being 'that lady' so don't, and do something empowering to you today!
